What is the basic eligibility I need to check before I can begin flying?
Check your eligibility (CPL & Complete Pilot Program) Educational Qualifications: You should have cleared your class 10+2 with Physics and Maths. Non-Physics – Chemistry – Maths students can appear for the National Indian Open School (NIOS) exam and join the course. Medical Fitness You should have cleared your Class-ll medical examination by a DGCA-approved Medical Practitioner. Minimum Age requirement – At the time of joining you should be 17 years of age and when applying for CPL license you should be 18 years of age.
Can I become a pilot if I had commerce or arts in school?
Yes, though you need to clear Physics and Math exam through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
Can I become a pilot if I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes. As long as you have 6/6 vision with Glasses or lenses, it is acceptable as per DGCA.
What is the difference between CPL & PPL?
CPL is the license given to those who wish to take up career as a pilot with commercial airlines whereas PPL is for those who wish to be a pilot as a hobby or for those who own an aircraft. A person who holds CPL must have obtained PPL earlier whereas PPL can be obtained directly.
What is type rating?
A Type-Rating is a regulating agency’s certification of an airplane pilot to fly a certain aircraft type that required additional training beyond the scope of initial licence and aircraft class rating.
